Privacy Policy

Short version: your files never leave your Mac. Homy has no accounts, no analytics and no cloud processing.

What Homy does on your Mac

Homy reads the folders you give it access to (such as Desktop, Documents and Downloads) so it can show, search and organize your files. Everything it does with them happens locally:

• Text recognition in images and PDFs uses Apple’s Vision framework, on your Mac.
• Duplicate and look-alike detection (SHA-256 fingerprints and Vision feature prints) runs on your Mac.
• The search index and thumbnails are stored on your Mac.
• Files that only exist in iCloud are skipped during scans, so they are not downloaded.

The only network calls

• License check. When you activate, and occasionally after that, Homy checks your license key with Dodo Payments, our payment and licensing provider. This sends your license key and your Mac’s name (so you can tell your activations apart), never your files.
• Update check. Once a day Homy fetches a small update feed from tryhomy.app to see if a new version is available. Like any web request, this includes your IP address and app version.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We receive your email address (to send your license key) and basic order details. We never see your full card details. Dodo Payments’ own privacy policy applies to the checkout.

This website

tryhomy.app is a static website. It does not use cookies or tracking scripts.
